At first I was afraid to go in, not being from the area. But Rhoda herself greeted me as I entered. I got a dozen tamales as she asked me where I was from and insisted I take 20 dozen for the road. Very good food, very filling. Don't let the exterior scare you away

From the street you wonder wether you should go in or run. We went in and had great tamales. Cole slaw was very tasty. If we get a chance we will stop and buy 2 doz tamales to go. Do not pass up.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We stopped here on the way from Little Rock to Louisiana, and we're already making plans to stop here on the way back to LR. We came for the tamales, obviously, but we stayed for the conversation with Ms. Adams and her daughter. Eating here is like eating at your grandma's house; delicious, full of kindness, and laughter. The tamales are filled with a delicious flavorful blend of shredded chicken and beef, and are small enough to where you can eat 4 or 5 in one sitting. To fully emphasize how delicious these tamales are: I haven't eaten meat in 7 years and I've eaten almost an entire beef and chicken tamale. And I don't regret it one bit. We also ordered an entire pie to split between the 2 of us, at the request of Ms. Adams. She has this uncanny ability to know what you want better than you do, even if she's never met you before. We were going to order small sweet potato and pecan pies, but she suggested (or told us that we were going to) order a whole coconut and chocolate pie and I am so glad we did. Even if it's out of your way, you need to visit here. Ms. Adams, thank you for teaching a California girl how to really eat! I can't wait to come back!

Delicious tamales and pies. A wonderful example of southern hospitality. Definitely a must if you're passing through the area. We shared an order of a dozen tamales for $12 and 2 mini pies (sweet potato and pecan $1 each). So yummy!

There are some things that you MUST experience if you live in the Delta: the Jim Henson Museum, the BB King Blues Festival, Doe's, Christmas on Deer Creek, and Rhoda's Famous Hot Tamales! I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of spicy things, but these little babies are so yummy!! I devoured 3 before I knew it! The spiciness is just enough to create a delectable flavor, without overpowering the entire dish. Once you've finished your coffee can of tamales, get some of Ms. Rhoda's equally delicious pie! You can purchase a full size pie or do yourself a favor and opt for her mini-pies! They come in a variety of flavors - lemon icebox with a homemade meringue, pecan, sweet potato, chocolate, coconut, and others - and all are incredible. Don't worry if you can't make a decision because they also come split between two flavors - like pecan and sweet potato. These little 4 bite pies are definitely worth a trip out to Lake Village on their own! It's a bit off the beaten path and the building may make you nervous for a second, but trust me, you'll be glad you came!

If you live in this town I'm sure you know of this place. If you're driving through definitely stop in and enjoy the culture. The food is great and cooked with true soul!

This is a very good Delta Tamale! Delicious and moist. They remind me a lot of the ones at Doe's they just use a cornhusk instead of parchment paper to roll them.

This is one of those "local dives" that you must visit if you want to experience the Arkansas Delta at its fullest. The building is quite dumpy, but inside, prepare yourself for some pretty ding-dang good soul food. Rhoda is a friendly woman too. My lunch of tamales, sweet potatoes and rice was wonderful.

We happened to be passing through the area and we were hungry. I told my dad "I know a place but you have to trust me". So I set the GPS and we pulled up to Rhonda's. Like most people I hesitated for a second. But you have to take the whole place as your experience. Its is what it is, an old shack of a building. We walked in to sit down and the lady behind the counter asked what we were having. No waitress service here! I got the fried chicken, mac n cheese and cornbread. My dad got 3 tamales. Awesome! Everything was perfect. The mac n cheese was some of the best I have ever had! I tasted my dads tamales and they were juicy with a kick. He wasn't feeling good before we went in and he said they cleared his sinuses! I'm so glad we went. This was PURE Arkansas Delta southern home style cooking.

This place is absolutely amazing! Real home cooking, absolutely delicious, friendly folks -- everything you could want. The tamales, naturally, are the main draw, but the homemade pies (pecan, e.g.) are absolutely on par. Worth a visit for either tamales or pies on their own.
